Review: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Cherry

Let me share to you a treasure given to me as a gift last Friendship Day :)

During the time this was given to me, I'm really looking for a good lip balm to sooth my very dry lips. When I opened the gift, I found this and it feels like one of my prayers has been answered :)

Tadaaa! Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Cherry :) It's sleek and it's a twist and pop up type of lip balm.

The only thing I don't like about it is that once you twist it up to pop, it won't come back anymore so you really have to be careful when twisting it.

My bare and dry lips. See? That's why I really need to put on some lip balm.

My lips w/ the lip shimmer on. It gives a light color and it gives you a mint feeling after applying it. This is what I use everyday and it keeps my lips moisturized however, I have to reapply atleast after eating. I also use this as a base when applying matte lipsticks :)

Pros:
-gives a minty feeling
-gives hue so no need to put lipstick on if you're on the go
-sleek
-easy to apply
-can last a long time

Cons:
-once you twist it to pop, it won't come back anymore that's why it's a bit messy to use

Overall, this product is perfect for people who wants some gloss, color and moisture for their lips though it might be a bit pricey (400php) compared to other lip balms available.

Review: Nanny Rose's Queen Bee All Natural Wax (Hot or Cold)

I went to Watsons to buy my face and body soap but I've stumbled upon this Nanny Rose's Wax. I remembered I wanted to try waxing my legs on my own since it seems easy when I'm having it done at a waxing salon.

This 50g wax only costs P100 or around $2.50. The 100g costs only P170 or $5. It comes with a very cute packaging!! So simple yet it contains everything you need to know about the product.

"Nanny Rose's honey wax will spruce you up in the sweetest way possible. This sticky pot is a combination of locally produced honey, sugar and calamansi juice. It contains no harsh chemicals and ingredients that can cause allergies that is why it can be used on sensitive skin and delicate areas. "

When you open the box, you'll see the (1) cute circle pot containing the wax, (2) 3 reusable, washable, pulls and (3) wooden applicators.

The wax itself really smells good!! And for the price of only P100, I think this is a good buy! Now, let's try it. I've tried two ways on how to use it.. Well, I just imitated those on waxing salons! :)

Showing you my hairy leg first!

FIRST METHOD

First step: apply powder to your skin to be waxed first. This will help lessen the pain :) Don't forget to put some on your hands too!

Second step: get an ample amount of wax and start putting it on your skin then pull it of fast again. It is like removing a sticky tag on your purchase with the use of scotch tape. Repeat the procedure until all unwanted hair had been pulled off. See my first try? I got lots of hair removed on a spot already! I experienced this kind of method when I had my last wax at Laybare! :)

This method is ideal if you're going to wax only a small area like your underarms or bikini line. This is not so ideal when you're going to take off the hair on your legs.. :)

SECOND METHOD

First step: apply wax on the area and spread it with the use of the wooden applicator.

Second step: put the pull on top of the wax, press it really hard then pull it of as fast as you can! This will hurt but only for a very short time! :) Trust me.

This method is easier because it removes hair easier and removes more hair on one pull! :) Honestly, waxing by yourself is not that ideal because it takes patience and you really have to make sure that you didn't miss out on anything which is a little hard because you can't see the back of your legs!!

The final results? TADAAA! I missed out on some hair because it was really hard, I swear! The wax is effective but I just failed in using it!! You might want to give it a try though!:) You might be better at this!! :) Next time, I'll just visit my trustworthy salon to remove my unwanted hair!! :))
