My Nursery Classroom AY 2015-2016

Yes. I'm a preschool teacher!! :) Today, I'm going to share to you what my classroom looks like. I teach the youngest pupils in the school where I work which is the Nursery level (ages 2.6-3).

I work with a partner teacher and most of the designs that you'll see is her idea and her materials (Hi Ms. Cecille!) I just want to share some ideas if you're planning to decorate or redecorate a (class)room for children.

So let's start with our board or the front area.

We have 2 panel boards where we can slide going to the middle to see the gallery where we post the children's artworks.

On the upper left side you can see the following: Calendar, weather chart and attendance.
On the lower left side are the colors with 1 example per color. We change what's on this board every term depending on what's our topic for Math.
We have the alphabets on the middle part so the children will be familiarize with the letters. Plus we also have our schedule cards for our daily schedule on the right most part of the board.
The one on top is the white screen where we can just pull down when we need to flash something from the projector.
On the upper right side is where the Augustinian Value of the Month is posted..
On the lower right side is our classroom rules.

When you slide the panel boards going to the middle, you'll be able to see the gallery or the artworks of the children..

We use a small hook and put a hole on every artwork so we can easily compile and hang the artworks altogether.
We have 4 round tables and on top of each table, we put hanging hot air balloons of different colors so they'll know which color group or table they are seated in.

We also put a small "hanging place" or Reading corner at the back most and made it look like they're under a big tree. They are free to get a book on the sode and sit there to read.

These are our cubby holes! We decided to put owls inside and on the side :)

This is a panoramic shot of our classroom. We have some additional cubbies near the front door for their materials and some cabinets for their books and toys.

I'm happy with the result of our classroom! It's very colorful and very enticing for children!! Though we have to remember that there should not be so much distractions around the children because most of them have very short attention span already and they might get bored easily so you might want to redecorate the room again ;))
